Studio Art
Tuesday, 9:30-12:00
By popular request, Westerly Learning Center will be offering a new art class this fall for 5th - 8th grade students. This class will teach the principles and concepts of art with an emphasis on art techniques. Learning the why and how of art techniques will enable the student to develop the skills needed to become independent in creating their own work of art. We will examine Artist’s artwork to evaluate and recognize art techniques and concepts in action. Some of the skills students will be learning by doing are: three views of perspective; foreshortening; gridding; figure proportion; shading; blending; color theory; and composition to name a few.
